Painters Garden
Lon and Laura came to me with challenges including deer, wind, gophers, and rabbits. I used bright masses of color throughout this landscape, while also preserving distant hillside views and creating wildlife habitat. I also created a wildflower meadow to stabilize their hillside, bring in pollinators, and provide painting opportunities. In fact, this garden was designed with the intent to paint it. Hardy plants such as Prostanthera, Westringia, Barberry and Coleonema served as a backdrop to more colorful perennials and bulbs which provide long lasting, seasonal vibrance in this garden that also resists pests.
